Ride-Sharing Drivers Protest in Kathmandu Demanding Fair Fares and Lower Commissions

KATHMANDU — Ride-sharing drivers and riders held a peaceful demonstration at Maitighar on Tuesday, demanding fair fare rates, reduced commission deductions, and proper evaluation of their labor.
Organized by the Independent Drivers Foundation Nepal, the protesters called on operating companies to resolve their ongoing issues through formal dialogue. In addition to lower commission rates, the riders pressed for the establishment of a minimum floor fare and stronger safety guarantees on the job.
