Rasuwa Flood: Rescue team reaches near Chilime tunnel clearing debris
Kathmandu. Search and rescue operations have been intensified in the tunnel area of the Chilime Hydropower Project, which was affected by a devastating flood in Rasuwa's Bhotekoshi River.
Since early morning, excavators have been deployed to clear debris and mud to search for those trapped inside the tunnel. According to Engineer Gokarna Chaudhary, the rescue team has now reached near the entrance of the tunnel. He stated that rescue efforts have been accelerated by removing thick mud, boulders, and concrete piled up by the flood.
Engineer Chaudhary informed that the team is rapidly clearing obstacles to ascertain the condition of the workers and other individuals trapped inside the new tunnel and to ensure their safe rescue.
