Red Carpet Premiere of Nepali Film ‘PR’ in Australia, Global Release in the Works

Kathmandu – The Nepali film PR, produced under the banner of Salon Salina Films, is set for a red carpet premiere. According to the production team, the premieres will be held in two Australian cities on August 9 and 12.

The first premiere will take place on August 9 at Event Cinemas in Hurstville, Sydney, across two halls. The second will be held on August 12 at Reading Cinemas in Newcastle, also in two halls.

In Australia, the film is being presented by Ranjit Shah of RFM Facility Management and Santosh Tiwari of Career Gateway Australia. Directed by Shovit Basnet, the film stars R.A. Suraj Poudel, Rajan Kunwar, Binita Karki, Pooja Chaudhary, Bimala Khatri, Asma Adhikari, Ganesh Budhathoki, Krishna Thapa, Max, Mastani, and Naveen Ghayal.

The film also features special appearances by Nir Shah, Gauri Malla, Rabindra Khadka, Dikpal Karki, and Uttam KC.

Produced by Pradeep Dahal of A-One Group Services and Laxman Sapkota of Indreni Group, the story is written by director Basnet himself, with the screenplay and dialogues by Ganesh Budhathoki.

The cinematography was handled by Saurav Sayami (in Australia) and Saurav Lama (in Nepal), with editing by Bande Prasad. Choreography is by Ramji Lamichhane, and the music is composed by Manas Raj and Bhim BC.

Production management was overseen by Kewalman Singh Basnet, with assistant directors Ramji Raut, Ganesh Budhathoki, and Mani Tamang. According to director Basnet, 60% of the film was shot across various cities in Australia and the remaining 40% in Nepal.

The film focuses on the struggles of Nepali students living abroad and the emotional toll on the families left behind in Nepal.

According to the production team, PR is a must-watch film for the Nepali diaspora. It captures the financial and emotional exchanges between children living abroad and their parents in Nepal.

Speaking about the film, director Basnet said, “There is a high demand for ‘PR’ in various Australian cities. We are preparing for a global release soon.” He also mentioned that discussions are ongoing with distributors for the film’s international release.
