Rasuwa Flood: 1,355 Bodies Found, 4,996 Missing

Kathmandu: Following the devastating flood in Rasuwa's Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, 1,355 bodies have been recovered so far, while 4,996 people remain out of contact. Updating the latest details, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) stated that search, rescue, and relief operations are being carried out at a rapid pace.

According to the Authority, out of the 1,355 bodies recovered, only 98 have been identified so far and handed over to their families.

The bodies swept away by the floodwaters were found across eight different districts: 222 in Nawalparasi East, 221 in Nawalparasi West, 197 in Nuwakot, 163 in Chitwan, 169 in Rasuwa, 75 in Gorkha, 70 in Dhading, and 38 in Tanahun.

Among those missing, based on details received from the Nuwakot District Administration Office, approximately 2,340 are from Nuwakot, 1,967 from Rasuwa, 589 are foreign nationals, and around 100 are security personnel and government employees.

A total of 13,396 people have been rescued safely from the affected areas so far.
