Rainfall Continues in Nepal, Disrupts Daily Life
Kathmandu, October 31, 2025: Continuous rainfall is affecting the Kathmandu Valley and large parts of Nepal today, a result of the receding influence of Cyclone Montha.
The persistent rain is severely disrupting daily life:
Transportation: Commuters face significant difficulty, and several major national highways remain blocked due to landslides, while traffic on others is restricted. Flights have also seen diversions due to poor visibility.
Agriculture: Farmers are concerned as the rain is damaging ready-to-harvest paddy crops across many districts.
Weather Forecast: The heavy rainfall is primarily concentrated in the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with a risk of flooding and landslides.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division expects the weather system to gradually weaken, with conditions starting to improve by Saturday morning. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and follow safety advisories.-1761888842.jpg)
