Prohibitory Order Issued in Various Areas of Birgunj Metropolitan City
Birgunj. The District Administration Office, Parsa, has issued a prohibitory order in various areas of Birgunj Metropolitan City. According to the decision of the District Security Committee, this prohibitory order has been issued starting from 1:00 PM today, January 5, 2026 (Poush 21, 2082), until further notice.
According to the notice issued by Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal, in accordance with Section 6 (3a) of the Local Administration Act,2028 BS, any kind of gathering, meeting, procession, or demonstration is prohibited within the designated four boundaries of Birgunj to maintain peace and security.
The District Administration Office stated that the prohibitory order has been issued from the Bus Park area in the East to Sirsiya Bridge in the West, and from Power House Chowk in the North to Shankaracharya Gate in the South.
The administration has also informed that anyone violating the said order will be taken into custody and strictly punished according to the law.
It is understood that the administration has taken this step considering the recent security sensitivities. The general public has been urged to cooperate in maintaining peace and security and to follow the administration's orders.
