Prithvi Highway Subsides Near Nagdhunga, Large Vehicles Rerouted Through Tunnel

Kathmandu: Traffic movement has been affected after a section of the road collapsed at Patale Ban near Nagdhunga along the Prithvi Highway. Following the road subsidence this morning, one-way traffic movement has been arranged at the site specifically for petroleum tankers and two-wheelers.

According to the Department of Roads, all other vehicles are being rerouted through the Nagdhunga Tunnel. A technical team from the department has been deployed for an on-site inspection and the necessary technical assessment of the damaged section. The department stated that full traffic operations will be restored promptly following the assessment and required repair work.

Due to the road condition and ongoing repair efforts, commuters traveling along this stretch are advised to use alternative routes and the tunnel way.
