Prime Minister Oli Issues Weather Alert: “Today’s Weather Forecast – Stay Alert, Everyone!”

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has issued a public alert through his official Facebook page this morning, urging all citizens to remain cautious due to the possibility of heavy rainfall across the country. Sharing a detailed weather forecast image released by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology for Sunday, 4th Shrawan 2082 (July 20, 2025), he wrote: “Today’s weather forecast – stay alert, everyone!”
According to the forecast, all seven provinces are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning during both day and night. Additionally, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
During the night as well, most provinces are expected to see thunderstorms with light to moderate rain, while some areas in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim may experience heavy rain.
The government and the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology have urged citizens to stay alert for possible disasters such as floods, landslides, and lightning. People are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay in safe areas, and regularly check weather updates.
Local governments and security agencies have also been instructed to remain in a state of readiness.
