Prime Minister Oli Extends Best Wishes on Millet Day
Kathmandu, Shrawan 16 – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended his best wishes on the occasion of National Millet Day through a social media post.
In his message, he highlighted that millet is not just a traditional crop of Nepal but also carries significant nutritional value. “With a low glycemic index, millet helps regulate blood sugar levels, and its fiber content supports heart health,” he stated.
The Prime Minister further mentioned that millet can be cultivated even without irrigation, making it a highly beneficial grain for Nepal’s agricultural landscape. Recognizing these benefits, the government has officially declared Shrawan 16 as National Millet Day starting this year.
In his post, he urged everyone to promote millet cultivation and include millet-based dishes in their daily diets. He concluded the message by wishing all Nepalis a happy Millet Day.
