President Inspects Flood-Affected Areas in Nuwakot Following the Bhotekoshi Flood

Nuwakot — On Monday, President Ramchandra Paudel conducted an on-site inspection of various areas in Nuwakot district affected by the flood that occurred in Rasuwa's Bhotekoshi River on August 26 (Bhadra 10). During his visit, he met with local flood victims and affected residents to listen to their grievances.

He was briefed by the District Security Committee on the impacts and damages caused by the Bhotekoshi flood in Nuwakot. Chief District Officer Shambhu Prasad Regmi, along with other committee members, presented detailed reports on the loss of life and property in the district resulting from the Rasuwa flood.

Additionally, CDO Regmi informed President Paudel about the ongoing efforts regarding search, rescue, relief, rehabilitation, and immediate reconstruction for the flood victims.

During the visit, President Paudel also inspected a holding center in Nuwakot housing the displaced residents. Affected citizens there briefed him on the unimaginable loss of life and property caused by the sudden flood and urged the government, relief donors, and relevant stakeholders to act with greater urgency in search, rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts.

On the same day, President Paudel also inspected the Nepal Army camp in Trishuli, Nuwakot, as well as flood-impacted areas in Rasuwa.
