Famous Singer and Actor Prashant Tamang’s Last Rites in Darjeeling

The mortal remains of renowned singer and actor Prashant Tamang, who passed away in Delhi, were brought to Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri on Monday morning. At the airport, various personalities from the entertainment industry, including BJP MP Raju Bishta from Darjeeling, paid their final respects to the late Tamang.

According to Andrew Gurung, National President of the Gorkha Shaheed Sewa Samiti, Tamang’s body will be taken from the airport to Darjeeling. In Darjeeling, arrangements have been made for the general public and fans to have a final glimpse of him at the Chaurasta area. Following this, the cremation ceremony will take place in the presence of his family and local residents.

MP Raju Bishta expressed grief over Tamang’s untimely demise, saying, “Prashant Tamang’s contributions are unparalleled. Through his singing and acting, he united the entire Gorkha community. This is a huge loss for us, and in this difficult time, we stand with his family.”

Tamang, a permanent resident of Darjeeling, passed away on Sunday at his residence in Delhi. Regarding the matter, ADCP Abhimanyu Poswal of Southwest Delhi stated, “The MLC was received from Mata Chanan Devi Hospital at 3:10 PM on Sunday afternoon.”
