Wife of Late Singer Prashant Tamang Confirms Demise by Natural Causes

Kathmandu. Prashant Tamang, the popular singer and actor who gained fame by winning the reality show 'Indian Idol-3', passed away on Sunday. His wife, Martha Alley, stated that his death was due to natural causes and that he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Speaking with the Indian news agency AANI, Martha Alley expressed her gratitude for the support and condolences coming from around the world. "Thank you to everyone. We are receiving calls from all over the world. Not only people we know, but even strangers are sending flowers. People are standing outside our house and have come to the hospital for a final look," she said. 

Mentioning that the love and emotional response from the public was very moving, she added, "Please continue to love him as you did before. He was a great soul and a good man. Please remember him that way."

Clarifying the rumors regarding his sudden death at a young age, Martha Alley stated there were no suspicious circumstances. "It was a natural death. He left us while he was asleep. I was right beside him at that time," she said.

Meanwhile, ADCP Abhimanyu Poswal of South-West Delhi gave official information about the death, stating that it is difficult to point out any suspicious aspects until the final autopsy report arrives. 

According to him, a Medical Legal Case (MLC) was received from Mata Chanan Devi Hospital at 3:10 PM on Sunday, stating that Prashant Tamang, a resident of Raghunagar, was declared dead upon arrival. 

Following the incident, a crime investigation team and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team visited the deceased's home to collect evidence, and the body was sent to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital for an autopsy. 

Tamang lived with his wife and daughter, and it was his wife who took him to the hospital. Police said her statement has already been recorded.

Born on January 4, 1983, in Tungsung, Darjeeling, Prashant Tamang did not have formal music education but got the chance to showcase his talent through the West Bengal Police Orchestra. 

After winning 'Indian Idol', he stepped into the acting field along with singing and acted in dozens of films, including the Nepali blockbuster 'Gorkha Paltan'.
