Kathmandu: As Dashain approaches, the number of people leaving Kathmandu Valley is rising. With schools and colleges on holiday, crowds have been gathering at Gongabu Bus Park from early morning.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipak Giri, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, approximately 138,296 people have left the valley since Ghatasthapana.
Although advance ticket booking was not opened this year for various reasons, the National Federation of Transport Entrepreneurs of Nepal has made arrangements for tickets to be purchased one day in advance. This has also contributed to the crowds at Gongabu Bus Park.
Currently, large numbers of travelers are seen leaving the valley from Gongabu New Bus Park, Dhading Bus Park in Machapokhari, Koteshwor, Kalanki, and other major intersections.
