'Panch Pandav' Film: Auspicious Launch Ceremony Held Amid High Expectations
Kathmandu: The film 'Panch Pandav' (Five Pandavas) held its official auspicious commencement ceremony (Shubhamuhurt) today, backed by high expectations and significant investment. The ceremony took place at Ganeshthan in Kathmandu.
Most of the film's cast were present at the launch. Directed by Basanta Niroula, the movie stars Hari Bansha Acharya, Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus), Jitu Nepal, and Sagar Lamsal (Bale). These actors will play the main roles, portraying the 'Five Pandavas'.
The production team clarified that the film is a social drama, not a religious one, despite its name. While the Five Pandavas are the central figures of the Hindu epic Mahabharata, it is assumed that their image is connected to the film's theme.
The production has not yet specified who among the cast will portray Yudhisthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva. However, based on age and public image, Hari Bansha Acharya is speculated to be Yudhisthira.
In the Mahabharata, the Pandavas married Draupadi. Details regarding who will play Draupadi, or the Pandavas' father Pandu and mother Kunti in this film, have not been revealed.
According to the production team, Deepa Shree Niroula and Jani Gurung will be the main female characters in 'Panch Pandav'. Director Niroula also mentioned that casting for a few other roles is still being finalized.
Produced under the banner of Kali Rani Films, the story, screenplay, and dialogue for the film are written by Sushil Poudel, who is also the writer of the popular cinema 'Prasad'.
Naveen Shrestha is the presenter, and Kali Rani Shrestha is the producer. Presenter Shrestha stated that due to the presence of popular and senior artists like Hari Bansha Acharya, the film's budget will be high, and no compromises will be made in the production quality due to budget constraints.
"You have already seen the excellent lineup of artists in our film. We will ensure the audience loves the film," he said, adding, "We will create a successful and memorable historical film."
Previously, Naveen had produced the film 'Laj Sharanam' last year.
The film's Principal Photography (shooting) is scheduled to begin within the next few months. Dilip Pant will serve as the Production Manager.
