Pakistan Embassy and Nepal-Pakistan Youth Council Provide Relief to Flood-Affected Families in Ilam

Kathmandu — The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, in collaboration with the Nepal-Pakistan Youth Council (NPYC), has extended humanitarian relief support to families affected by recent floods in the Ilam district of Koshi Province.

On October 17, 2025, a delegation led by H.E. Abrar H. Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, along with First Secretary Mr. Muhammad Haroon Rasheed and NPYC Convener Mr. Richumani Luitel, distributed essential relief materials to flood-affected families in Mangsebung and Phakphokthum Rural Municipalities. The relief handover took place at Gajurmukhi Dham, Mangsebung Rural Municipality, Ilam.

The event was attended by Chief District Officer Ms. Sunita Nepal, District Police Chief SP Ek Narayan Koirala, Chairman of Mangsebung Rural Municipality, and local representatives. Ambassador Hashmi expressed his heartfelt sympathies and solidarity with the affected communities, reaffirming the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between the people of Pakistan and Nepal. He conveyed that the relief items were a token of love and support from the people of Pakistan.

During the event, Ambassador Hashmi also announced four scholarships for MBBS, BDS, and B. Pharmacy programs under PTAP, as well as fifty scholarships for higher secondary education through the NPYC for deserving students from flood-affected families in Ilam.

Earlier, while visiting Biratnagar, Ambassador Hashmi met with Hon. Riwati Bhandhari, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province. He extended condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan to those impacted by the recent flash floods, and briefed the Minister on the purpose of his visit — to express solidarity and support for the affected communities.

The initiative highlights Pakistan’s continued commitment to humanitarian assistance and people-to-people friendship with Nepal, particularly in times of crisis.
