Positive Audience Feedback for 'Pahad' on Opening Day

Kathmandu. Targeting the New Year, the film 'Pahad', which released on Baisakh 1, has received positive responses from the audience. On the first day of screening, the production team visited various theaters in the Kathmandu Valley to interact with the audience. Director Tulsi Ghimire, actors Bipin Karki, Arun Chhetri, actress Renunath Yogi, along with debut actress Panchami Ghimire, spent the day visiting different halls in the Kathmandu Valley to collect feedback from viewers.

Director Ghimire, who returned to direction after a gap of nearly nine years, stated that he is very excited by the audience's reaction. He said, "The audience has well understood what we intended to say through the film; most viewers have called it their own story. The message I wanted to convey has reached the audience."

He mentioned that during the hall visits, he had the opportunity to meet viewers from all age groups. "I felt happy seeing everyone from small children to people of a generation older than me as audience members in the hall. More importantly, everyone liked the film. Audiences who arrived at the hall with their families are returning happy. I consider this a success," he said.

He stated that the film, based on subjects like unemployment, hills becoming devoid of humans, and water scarcity, has brought contemporary issues to the audience through the screen. Actor Bipin Karki said that the film's subject matter will bring the audience to the theaters. "Looking at the audience's reaction to this film, I am confident that the crowd will increase even more in the coming days. It presents an original story of the Nepali soil. Those who watch the film will certainly recommend it to others and send them to the halls," he said.

Actor Arun Chhetri is elated as most shows were housefull on the first day and received positive feedback. He said that the response received during the audience interaction was very strong. "The hills are a beautiful place. Along with that beauty, we have also depicted the story of the emptying hills. The audience has liked it. I met viewers of all age groups, and they mentioned they would recommend the film to others. We will visit various halls in the coming days to meet the audience," actor Chhetri said.

The film 'Pahad' stars Madan Krishna Shrestha, Bipin Karki, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Sunil Thapa, Renunath Yogi, Uma Giri, Arun Chhetri, and debut actress Panchami Ghimire. The film depicts the hilly areas becoming empty as the youth workforce migrates abroad and the resulting social and economic problems. Debut actress Panchami Ghimire received a warm welcome from the audience. During the interaction with the audience, director Ghimire's youngest daughter, Panchami, received great praise.

"I cannot express the love I received in words; I have become grateful. I am very happy; when the audience connects with the story, they start considering the characters as their own. I feel that the audience has accepted us as characters of the village/society," she said.

Director Ghimire has also included Madan Krishna Shrestha, who previously worked in 'Balidan', and Shiva Shrestha and Sunil Thapa, who worked in 'Chino', in 'Pahad'. The film's cinematography was done by Pramod Pradhan. Produced under the banner of Bhagyarath Films Pvt. Ltd., director Ghimire's youngest daughter Panchami Ghimire has debuted as an actress through the film 'Pahad'. Additionally, in the technical team, the director's eldest daughter Bhawana Ghimire has handled the responsibility of Production Designer.

Ranjit Singh Gajmer is the music director of the film. In the film presented by Uttam Rasaily, Surendra Lama Thing, Ojaswi KC, Rimpoche Lama Thing, Damanti Rasaily, and Uma Giri are the producers, while Bharati Ghimire is the creative producer.

The film is distributed by Venkatesh Entertainment in Nepal and Seven Seas International abroad. Its publicity design was done by Royal Bhimsen and Trident Concept. The film features choreography by Kaviraj Gahatraj and Mingma D Lepcha, action direction by Kumar Maharjan, and editing by Shankar Koirala and Bharati Ghimire.
