Tulsi Ghimire's 'Pahaad' Released Across Nepal on New Year

Targeting the New Year, the film 'Pahaad' has been released across Nepal starting today, Baisakh 1. Senior director Tulsi Ghimire has directed the film, which is based on unemployment, the emptying of the mountains as people leave, and water scarcity issues. Director and writer Tulsi Ghimire informed that the film addresses contemporary issues currently facing Nepal.

He said, "The mountain is a beautiful place; along with beauty and harmony, we have depicted the story of the mountains that are gradually becoming empty. Although this story is set in the mountains, it is a depiction of the entire country."

According to him, the film's actors will visit various cinema halls in the Kathmandu Valley today to interact with the audience. 'Pahaad' features performances by Madan Krishna Shrestha, Bipin Karki, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Sunil Thapa, Renunath Yogi, Uma Giri, Arun Chhetri, and debutant actress Panchami Ghimire. The film portrays the social and economic problems caused by the migration of youth manpower abroad, leaving the mountains deserted.

This time, Director Ghimire has cast Madan Krishna Shrestha, who worked in 'Balidan', and Shiva Shrestha and Sunil Thapa, who worked in 'Chino', in 'Pahaad'. The film is cinematographed by Pramod Pradhan. Produced under the banner of Bhagya Ratna Films Pvt. Ltd., Director Ghimire's younger daughter, Panchami Ghimire, is making her debut as an actress through 'Pahaad'. Similarly, in the technical team, Director Ghimire's elder daughter, Bhawana Ghimire, has taken on the responsibility of Production Designer.

Ranjit Singh Gajmer is the music director of the film. Presented by Uttam Rasaily, the film is produced by Surendra Lama Thing, Ojaswi KC, Rimpochhe Lama Thing, Damanti Rasaily, and Uma Giri. Bharati Ghimire is the creative producer of the film. The movie will be distributed by Bainktesh Entertainment in Nepal and Seven Seas International Films in the diaspora. The publicity design was handled by Royal Bhimsen and Trident Concept. The film features dance direction by Kabiraj Gahatraj and Mingma D Lepcha, action direction by Kumar Maharjan, and editing by Shankar Koirala and Bharati Ghimire.
