Online Application Now Available for Lost or Damaged SIM Cards
Nepal Telecom has launched a new service allowing users to apply online for a replacement SIM card if their previous one is lost or damaged. Issuing a press release on Friday, the telecom operator announced that this service has been brought into operation starting from Shrawan 1 (mid-July).
Now, if a Nepal Telecom physical SIM or e-SIM is lost or damaged, customers can log in to esim.ntc.net.np , select the "Apply for Lost/Damaged SIM" option, fill in the required details, and submit their application for a new SIM.
According to the press release, once the application process is complete, the new SIM card can be collected from the respective counter either by the customer themselves or through a authorized representative. A fee of Rs. 50 must be paid directly at the counter to receive the new SIM.
Important Security Requirement: If the customer cannot visit the counter in person, the representative's name must be explicitly mentioned in the application form. Additionally, the representative must mandatorily present a valid identification document. The company highlighted that these strict verification steps are in place to ensure customer privacy and security.
According to Nepal Telecom, this online portal serves multiple purposes beyond just replacing lost or damaged SIMs. Customers can also use the platform to acquire a new prepaid e-SIM, upgrade an existing physical SIM to an e-SIM, request a brand new physical SIM, or update their customer registration details (KYC).
Nepal Telecom has expressed confidence that this new service will make the overall SIM replacement and acquisition process significantly more convenient, fast, and organized.
