Kathmandu. The date for the 12th International General Convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has been set.

The date for the NRNA's 12th International General Convention has been fixed by the Steering Committee, which was formed after the comprehensive unification of NRNA.

The committee's second meeting, held on Sunday night, decided to hold the General Convention and election on February 23, 24, and 25 of the coming year 2026.

According to the press release issued by the two General Secretaries, Gauri Raj Joshi and B.R. Lama, the meeting not only set the date for the General Convention but also took several important decisions for institutional unity and strengthening.

The meeting formed a five-member 'NCC Unity Facilitation Committee' under the coordination of Gangadhar Gautam to facilitate the unification of the National Coordination Committees (NCCs). Tika Gurung (Radhika) is the co-coordinator of the committee, while the members include Narayan Kafle, Sunny Oli, and Chiranjivi Khadka.

Similarly, General Secretary Lama informed that it was decided to organize interaction and dialogue programs in various regions to disseminate the message of comprehensive unity and prepare for the General Convention.

Accordingly, programs will be held in the Middle East and Africa region on December 19, the Asia Pacific and Oceania region on December 20, and the Americas and Europe region on December 21.

Furthermore, the meeting decided that the Steering Committee will strictly enforce discipline and responsibility and set a deadline for all committee members to sign the commitment letter before the next meeting.

It was also decided that members who do not sign will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming meeting. The meeting also decided to increase the membership committee by adding 2 members, making it a 7-member body.

The meeting appealed to the entire global non-resident Nepali community and National Coordination Councils to start immediate preparations to make the 12th General Convention an historic success.

The unification between the Mahesh Kumar Shrestha and Dr. Badri K.C. factions of NRNA took place on November 30 (Mangsir 14) in the presence of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
