NRNA Steering Committee Sets Groundwork for 12th General Convention

KATHMANDU, December 29, 2025 – The newly formed Steering Committee of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), established following the organization’s high-level unification, successfully concluded its fourth meeting on Sunday.

Chaired with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the session focused primarily on the upcoming 12th General Convention and the streamlined implementation of the association’s bylaws and election procedures.

Under the moderation of General Secretary Baburam (B.R.) Lama, the committee decided to conduct the 12th General Convention in strict adherence to the NRNA Constitution (2022).

To address any legal complexities arising from the post-unification phase, the committee agreed to seek expert legal counsel before coordinating further with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Additionally, the leadership has mandated that all committee members sign a formal commitment letter by the next meeting to ensure accountability.

The meeting also moved to finalize additional appointments to the NCC Unity Facilitation and Membership Management committees, with names expected to be presented in the upcoming session.nrna-steeringvommittee-decision-(2)-1767005834.jpg
