NRN Association Meets Foreign Minister Sharma, Regarding Convention Preparations
Kathmandu. The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) met with Honorable Foreign Minister Balananda Sharma regarding the preparations for the 12th General Convention and International Conference.
A delegation led by NRNA President Dr. Badri KC informed Minister Sharma at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the progress made in the preparations so far.
During the meeting, the NRNA delegation inquired about the status of the formation of the Main Organizing Committee for the 12th General Convention. It was informed that the Ministry's Diaspora Division is carrying out the necessary work in this regard.
There is a provision to organize the NRNA General Convention by forming a high-level organizing committee of the Government of Nepal under the chairmanship of the Foreign Minister.
Vice President Dr. Hem Raj Sharma mentioned that the 12th General Convention is a special convention being organized after a broad unification and informed that preparations are underway to complete it successfully.
Additionally, he pointed out that further refinement is needed between the Ministry and the Association regarding the draft of the bill designed to amend and integrate laws related to Non-Resident Nepalis prepared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was stated that both parties could cooperate on this matter.
The meeting was attended by NRNA Treasurer Sujan Thapa, the Association's CEO Rajendra Kumar Raut, and others.
