Keki Adhikari Opens Up About Her Emotional Journey in New Film 'Kaji'
Keki Adhikari, who has built a distinct identity in the Nepali film industry, is now coming to the audience through her new film ‘Kaji’. She seems very excited about this film, which carries social emotions, love, and depth of relationships. The film is built around the love story of Kaji and Kajini.
At a recent program organized in the capital, she explained that ‘Kaji’ is not just a love story but a deep world of trust, sacrifice, and relationships. According to her, even though the perspective towards love has changed in current times, relationships are sustained by love and trust in the world of ‘Kaji’.
She said, "In real life too, whether it is family or the person we love, we sometimes feel like 'only I am giving more'. Human psychology is just like that. But in the world of ‘Kaji’, the thinking is completely different, and a deep emotional depth can be found." According to her, the character 'Kajini' in the film feels that no matter how much 'Kaji' loves her, she cannot return that much love even in seven lifetimes.
While clarifying the story of the film, Keki also connected the context of Ramayana. "Even in the story of Ram and Sita, I think Sita made many sacrifices for Ram. She went into exile and gave the fire ordeal. But in the world of ‘Kaji’, Kajini can view Kaji keeping him even above that level," she said, "It can be said that love holds the world together here because of the dedication, sacrifice, and love that Kajini experiences in the film."
Speaking about the character of Kajini, she also revealed another interesting aspect. According to her, for Kajini, getting a husband like ‘Kaji’ is not a coincidence but feels like the fruit of virtues from previous births. She said, "There is a sentiment that getting Kaji in the seventh birth is the fruit of the virtues Kajini earned during her six previous births."
According to her, the biggest thing in the world for 'Kajini' is relationship. She is ready to do anything to preserve the love and trust with which Kaji looks at her. "For Kajini, love, trust, and relationship are the biggest things; everything else in the world seems small," Keki shared her experience about the character Kajini in the film.
Sharing that she lived as the real Kajini in character due to Kaji's love and trust, she said, "Kajini's biggest confidence is Kaji's love and trust towards her. The film shows how rich and how confident that thing makes a person," Keki said.
The storyline of the film had connected her emotionally from the very beginning. "The character Kajini in the film is not ordinary; there is a lot of pain, love, and responsibility within it," she said.
She has taken the collaboration with actor Bipin Karki as a very comfortable and memorable experience. She believes that the film, made on an emotional chemistry with Bipin and a family storyline, will attract the audience.
Active in the Nepali film sector for about a decade and a half, Keki has always been choosing different and powerful characters. Having recently gained buzz through a female-centric film like 'Boksi Ko Ghar', she has been saying that she prioritizes good stories and subjects connected with society.
For those who closely watch Keki's acting journey, 'Kaji' is expected to become another chapter of her mature acting. The audience has highly liked the pairing of Keki and Bipin in the promotional materials of the film. Their performance seen in the released trailer and song is also receiving positive reactions on social media.
The film is releasing nationwide from this Jeth 8. The production team claims that the film, based on a rural setting, has brought an emotional story and sensitive aspects of relationships onto the screen. Laxman Rijal is the director of the film.
