FNCCI President Dhakal Meets UAE Finance Ministry Secretary

Kathmandu — President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, held a meeting with His Excellency Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

The meeting focused on further strengthening Nepal–UAE bilateral economic relations and expanding cooperation in trade and investment.

The meeting was held in the presence of His Excellency Tej Bahadur Chhetri, Ambassador of Nepal to the UAE. Both sides expressed their commitment to making Nepal–UAE economic cooperation more effective in the coming days and to advancing partnerships based on mutual benefit.

On the occasion, FNCCI President Dhakal briefed the UAE side on investment opportunities available in Nepal and emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between the private sectors of both countries. 

He highlighted that trade and investment collaboration could be expanded in priority sectors such as hydropower, tourism, agro-processing, large-scale infrastructure, and information technology (IT).

President Dhakal also stated that the launch of direct Emirates Airlines flights to Kathmandu would make a significant contribution to the growth of tourism, trade, and overall business mobility. 

UAE Finance Ministry Undersecretary Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh expressed keen interest in the projects and opportunities presented by Nepal and conveyed the UAE side’s positive outlook toward enhancing private-sector cooperation.

During the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening cooperation and moving toward tangible outcomes in the future. 

Additionally, recalling his visit to Nepal in 2018, Secretary Al Saleh shared that he was deeply impressed by Nepali hospitality and cuisine, FNCCI President Dhakal informed.
