Nepal Police Opens Recruitment for 133,980 Election Police Personnel

Kathmandu. Targeting the security of the House of Representatives member elections, Nepal Police has opened recruitment for Election Police. The Human Resource Development Department (Recruitment and Selection Branch) under the Nepal Police Headquarters has called for 133,980 Election Police personnel.

Interested Nepali citizens can submit their applications from January 19 to January 23. According to Nepal Police, applications can be submitted through the District Police Ranges in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur, as well as District Police Offices across the country. Applications can be submitted from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and will be accepted even on public holidays.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not exceed 54 years of age by the final date of application. The specified qualifications require the applicant to be a Nepali citizen, be able to read and write simply, be physically and mentally healthy, have no criminal convictions, and not be a member of any political party.

According to physical standards, men must have a minimum height of 5 feet 3 inches, chest measurements of 31/33 inches, and a weight of 50 kg. For women, the minimum height must be 4 feet 10 inches and weight 42 kg. It is also stipulated that women must not be pregnant.

In the selection of Election Police, priority will be given to retired security personnel from the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force, former forest guards, individuals who have previously provided satisfactory service as temporary police (Myadi Prahari), and retired Nepali citizens from the security agencies of friendly foreign nations.

The contact date is set for January 18, and the selection process will be conducted from January 19 to January 23. The final results will be published on January 26. Nepal Police stated that the selected Election Police will receive training from January 29 to February 7.

The working period for Election Police will be a maximum of 40 days from the date of appointment or as specified by the Government of Nepal. The police also clarified that the working duration may be adjusted according to the needs of the election.
