National Heritage Preservation Foundation to Host Special Program on the Eighth Anniversary of National Flag Day

Kathmandu. The National Heritage Preservation Foundation Nepal, which is active with the aim of introducing Nepal's original culture, national identity, and supremacy to the world, is set to grandly celebrate the eighth anniversary of National Flag Day in the capital, Kathmandu, on Poush 1, 2082 B.S.

The Foundation, which has been continuously running a campaign for the preservation of Nepal's original culture, traditional attire, and cultural identity for the past 13 years, laid the foundation for a successful campaign to introduce Nepali attire and cap internationally starting from Poush 1, 2070 B.S.

Continuing this campaign, and with the great objective of spreading the dignity, glory, and historical significance of the National Flag among the people, Flag Day was established and began to be celebrated worldwide from Poush 1, 2075 B.S.

This day is specifically celebrated to commemorate the important day when Nepal's National Flag was officially registered with the United Nations, establishing its high identity in the world. 

Nepal's flag was registered with the United Nations on December 16, 1962 (Poush 1, 2019 B.S.). To keep this historic day alive, Nepalis around the world have been celebrating this day with joy and enthusiasm for the past eight years.

Rajananda Mandavya, Founder/President of the National Heritage Preservation Foundation Nepal, has stated that there is a great need for such campaigns from Nepal to continuously connect Nepalis scattered in more than 80 countries of the world with Nepal's flag, language, and culture, and to inspire them to embrace these elements.
