National Earthquake Safety Day Observed in Kathmandu

Kathmandu – Today, National Earthquake Safety Day is being observed. This day has been celebrated annually since 2055 B.S. in remembrance of the devastating earthquake that struck on 1990 Magh 2 B.S.
The purpose of this day is to raise public awareness about the risks of earthquakes and to promote preparedness and safety measures.
Stakeholders have emphasized that in earthquake-prone Nepal, safe construction and practical vigilance are extremely necessary.
On this occasion, various awareness programs are being organized across the country.
