National Day Against Human Trafficking Being Observed Today

Kathmandu — Nepal is observing the National Day Against Human Trafficking today with various awareness programs organized across the country.

The day is observed every year on the 20th of Bhadra in the Nepali calendar (September 5). It marks the anniversary of the ratification of the 2002 SAARC Convention against trafficking by the House of Representatives on Bhadra 20, 2063 BS (2006).

This day plays a crucial role in raising community awareness against the heinous crime of human trafficking and transportation, while reinforcing the commitment to ensure the safety and security of every citizen.
