Mugu Conducts Joint Security Mock Drill for Upcoming Election

Mugu — Aiming to conduct the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5 in a peaceful, fearless, and dignified manner, a joint security mock drill targeted at the election has been demonstrated in Mugu.

Organized by the Shree Hanumandhwaj Gulm of the Nepalese Army in Hutu, Mugu, the security demonstration was held at the Shree Devidatta Gan (B) Gulm in Susemu, located in the district headquarters, Gamgadhi.

According to the organizers, the exercise was conducted with the objective of effectively implementing the integrated security plan during the election period and further strengthening the overall security arrangements of the district.

The demonstration was carried out under integrated security training in coordination with the three security agencies in the district—the Nepalese Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force—as well as the District Election Office. Security personnel presented a planned exercise on controlling various anti-election activities that could occur during the election to ensure voting is completed in an impartial, peaceful, and fearless environment.

Khadga Bahadur Shrestha, Captain of the Shree Hanumandhwaj Gulm, Hutu, stated that information regarding the joint roles of the Nepalese Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police in polling station security was also provided through the mock drill.

During the security demonstration program organized on the final day of the integrated training, Chief District Officer Khadananda Khatri emphasized that political parties themselves must be disciplined and responsible to make the election peaceful.

He mentioned that since various types of incidents could occur during the election, the role of security personnel remains crucial in controlling such activities, and added that such exercises help in operating polling stations in a secure and organized manner.

This security exercise is expected to contribute significantly to making the House of Representatives election on March 5 secure, organized, and credible.
