‘Mrs. Purbeli Icon’ Second Edition: First Round of Auditions Concludes

Itahari – The second edition of the beauty pageant for married women, Mrs. Purbeli Icon, is set to take place in Koshi Province. Following the successful completion of the first edition last year, the first round of auditions for this year’s edition has now concluded.

According to pageant director Sajina Shrestha, 45 women submitted online forms and participated in a digital audition, out of which 4 contestants were shortlisted for the physical round. Due to the festive atmosphere of the month of Shrawan, and difficulties in traveling from distant locations, the organizers opted to conduct the initial screening digitally, said Saroj Shrestha, director of the organizing company, Open Space Pvt. Ltd.

The physical audition was held at Foodsala Café, located in Sangeet Chowk, Itahari. Organizers shared that a second round of auditions will be scheduled soon, followed by training sessions for the selected contestants.

The event aims to empower married women, offering them a platform to showcase their inner talents and creativity beyond their household roles. Mrs. Purbeli Icon is not just a beauty contest but a symbol of women’s empowerment, according to the organizers.

Eligible participants must be married women aged 20 or above from anywhere in Koshi Province. There are no height or weight requirements. Finalists will receive training in beauty, knowledge enhancement, and ramp walking. The winner will receive a cash prize of NPR 100,000 along with several other gifts.

The grand finale is scheduled to be held in the first week of Ashoj in Itahari.
