MCA-Nepal Signs Agreements for Road Projects Under MCC Compact
Kathmandu, Dec 22: Millennium Challenge Account Nepal (MCA-Nepal) has signed agreements worth approximately 23.7 million US dollars for two road projects to be built under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact.
According to a press release issued today by MCA-Nepal, an agreement worth about 20 million US dollars has been signed with Sharma-Kumar Joint Venture for the upgrade of the Dhankhola to Lamahi section of the East-West Highway during the implementation of the road maintenance projects.
Similarly, the press release states that MCA-Nepal recently signed an agreement worth approximately 3.66 million US dollars with International Consultants and Technocrats Pvt. Ltd. for the supervision of the road upgrade work on that section and the periodic maintenance of the Narayanghat-Mugling road section.
Under these projects, the 40-kilometer road section from Dhankhola to Lamahi on the East-West Highway will be upgraded and widened to 12 meters, while periodic maintenance will be carried out on the Narayanghat-Mugling road section.
During a program today, the Executive Director of MCA-Nepal, Khadga Bahadur Bishta, and the authorized representative of Sharma-Kumar Joint Venture, Saurav Sharma, signed the agreement regarding the upgrade work of the Dhankhola to Lamahi road section.
