Four Miss Nepals to Share the Screen in ‘Maya Bhanekai Yasto Hola’
Kathmandu. The official release date for the movie ‘Maya Bhanekai Yasto Hola’, directed by actress Rekha Thapa, has been formally announced.
According to a mutual agreement and contract between the production team and distributors, the film is set to release in theaters across the country starting bhadra 26.
Previously, the production team had mentioned that the film would be released during the Teej festival, but a concrete date had not been fixed. Following the latest round of discussions with distributors, it has been informed that the film will be released on the special occasion of Teej and Kushe Aunsi (Father's Day).
Prominent distribution companies Rich Entertainment, Apple Entertainment, and FD Company have taken responsibility for the nationwide distribution of this film.
Renowned actress of the Nepali film industry, Rekha Thapa, is making her directorial comeback after eight years with this movie. Having previously directed successful films like ‘Himmatwali’ and ‘Malika’, this is Rekha's third directorial feature.
Rekha, who has focused entirely on direction rather than acting in this film, is working outside her own banner, ‘Rekha Films’, this time. This is arguably the first time in the history of Nepali cinema that an established female director has directed a film for an outside banner.
Produced under the banner of ‘Diya and Amu Films’, the movie features legendary figures from the Nepali arts sector as well as current popular faces.
The film stars Madan Krishna Shrestha and Dil Shrestha alongside former Miss Nepals Shristi Shrestha, Namrata Shrestha, and former Miss Nepal International Niti Shah in lead roles. Former Miss Nepal Usha Khadgi also appears in a special role. In this sense, the movie features four Miss Nepals together.
Produced under the ‘Diya and Amu Films’ banner, the cast also includes Laxmi Giri, Bishal Pahadi, Sangam Bhandari, Rabi Dangol, Sunita Shrestha, and Binod Paudel, among others.
During the previous formal announcement, the production team released two posters. The two posters showcased the emotional and romantic avatars of the actors.
The filming of the movie was completed on the 28th day on Chaitra 28, and post-production work is currently underway.
The producers of this film are Hari Narayan Shrestha and Maya Devi Shrestha.
Written by Dhurba Lamsal, the film claims to depict social emotions and environments through a sweet love story. Writer Lamsal has returned to scriptwriting through this cinema after a gap of 10 years.
The film features cinematography by Sudip Baral, with Aniruddha Atreya as chief assistant director, Rajan Ghimire as film coordinator, music by Prashant Siwakoti, dress design by Sujeni Malla, makeup by Priya Karki, and production by Chudamani (CM).
