Man Arrested for Sending Mass SMS Campaign Calling for Abolition of Federal Structure
Kathmandu: Police have arrested Nirdesh Sedhain for sending mass SMS messages demanding the removal of the provincial (federal) structure and calling for the establishment of a Sanatan constitutional monarchy.
Sedhain admitted to sending around 5 million SMS messages using the Nepal Telecom gateway.
According to the police, the messages urged people to abolish the current provincial system and reinstate a constitutional monarchy.
Sedhain, a resident of Chitwan, was arrested on Tuesday night from Hattisar, Kathmandu, informed SP Kaji Kumar Acharya of the Valley Crime Investigation Office.
