Mahesh Basnet’s Facebook Post: “Fire Cannot Burn Our Dedication”

Kathmandu, September 10 –
Nepali Congress (UML) leader and former minister Mahesh Basnet has urged everyone to remain patient and disciplined amid the current unstable situation. In a Facebook post, he emphasized the need for unity to bring the country back to normalcy during these challenging times.
Basnet wrote, “Even a coward speaks of bravery when there is no storm. But only the brave can stand firm while playing against the storm.”
He appealed to parents, siblings, and party colleagues to remain calm, follow the directions of security personnel, help one another, and avoid involvement in arson, looting, or destruction of property. He stressed the importance of supporting friends in need and guiding public life back to the right path.
He further added, “Houses were burned, property was destroyed. But our spirit and dedication to the people cannot be burned by fire. After the storm, the sky becomes even bluer. Today we are in pain, but tomorrow we will rise steadfast,resilienc.”
In conclusion, Basnet reaffirmed the commitment of the party to the country’s safety, saying, “We are safe and will always be ready to serve for the security of the nation.”
