Laxmi Puri Releases Authentic Teej Song ‘Ghankaideu Madalu’

Kathmandu – As the Teej festival approaches, singer Laxmi Puri Pradhan has unveiled her new traditional Teej song ‘Ghankaideu Madalu’. Reflecting themes of childhood, love, and maternal home, the song emphasizes the cultural and emotional essence of Teej.

Featuring chorus vocals by Kesu Gurung and Saru KC, the lyrics are written by Sabita Pokharel with music composed by Suman Pandit Bairagi. Madan KC arranged the music, while Bipin Acharya handled mixing and mastering.

Directed by Niren Shrestha, the video showcases choreography by Nitin Waiba and a lively dance performance by actress Richa Khadka. Laxmi Puri also appears in the video, which was filmed by Sunil Bhandari and released on her official YouTube channel.

Puri stressed the importance of preserving authenticity in Teej music, urging artists not to compromise culture for popularity or views. She warned, “If we lose our originality today, it won’t exist tomorrow.”

The song aims to promote cultural awareness and preserve the originality of Teej celebrations.
