Surkhet. Transportation services along the Bheri Corridor road have been disrupted following a landslide at Galgauda in Aathbiskot Municipality-6, Rukum West.
According to the District Police Office, Dolpa, while the road has been blocked by the landslide, reports claiming the Bheri River has been dammed at Karbagad Khola and other locations are incorrect.
The District Police Office, Dolpa, stated that rumors regarding the damming or blockage of the Bheri River's flow remain unverified. Police clarified there is no truth to the information circulating on social media and other platforms claiming the river has been blocked.
The road blockade caused by the landslide at Galgauda has left passengers and vehicles stranded. Efforts are currently underway to clear the debris and restore traffic flow. Meanwhile, false reports of the river being dammed led locals in Rukum West and Jajarkot to abandon their homes and flee to higher ground as a precaution, causing widespread panic and inconvenience.
Police have urged the public not to be misled by false information.
