Debut actor Bishal seen with Swastima in ‘Lalibazar’ poster
A new poster for the film ‘Lalibazar’, which is set to release on May 1st, has been made public. In the new poster, debut actor Bishal Devkota is seen alongside actress Swastima Khadka. The production team presented Swastima and Bishal as a couple in the newly released poster.
Bishal, who is known as an actor and director in Nepal's theater scene, was selected for ‘Lalibazar’ through an audition. Shatkon Arts, the production company, stated that he earned the opportunity to be paired with Swastima in his debut film due to his acting skills.
Having dreamed of becoming an artist since childhood, Bishal moved forward by understanding acting closely through plays. After gaining experience working in theater, Devkota entered the film industry as a continuation of that journey. Lately, Bishal has been viewed as a rising artist. The artistry he displayed while performing in plays has started to receive good praise.
"I had the desire to become an artist since I was small, and following that dream, I have reached here today," he said. According to him, the team of the film ‘Lalibazar’ noticed him while he was performing in the play ‘Mira’ staged at Kantipur Theatre. After that, he was selected for the film after passing various stages of auditions. He mentioned that his theater experience opened the door for him to enter films.
He said, "Last time I did a play called ‘Mira’ at Kantipur Theatre. Pradip Bhattarai sir, Rabin dai, and JB dai came to watch that play. After watching it, they called me to the office for an option, and the audition process began."
Feeling the difference between theater and film acting, he said that the form of acting is different in both mediums. His experience is that while one can live a character fully at once in theater, one has to act in broken scenes in films. He mentioned that the story of the film is connected to the reality of society.
"This is a story based on the reality of our society, which presents a certain setting and atmosphere," he said. Speaking about the difference between theater and film acting, Devkota shared his experience that in a play, one can live the character all at once, but in a film, one must act in bits and pieces.
He mentioned that he felt comfortable working with the new team. He stated that it is his good fortune to debut through an established banner like Shatkon Arts. He urged the audience to watch ‘Lalibazar’ with their families. "This is an entertaining film based on a new story that can be watched as a family. Go and watch it in nearby cinema halls starting May 1st," he said.
The audience has liked the film's released song ‘Mayalai Ke Diu Ma Baina’. That song has already been viewed by 8 million viewers. The number of people making videos for this song on Facebook Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts is increasing.
Filmed in Rajapur, Bardiya, the movie stars Swastima Khadka, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukunda Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, Prem Pandey, Asha Paudel, Govinda Sunar, Abha Aryal, Tara Sharma, Ramesh Wadi, Saraswati Adhikari, Janaki Kathayat, Nischal Panthi, Birbal Chaudhary, and others.
