'Lalibazaar' to be Released This Friday, Baisakh 25, Following Court Order
KATHMANDU. The path for the screening of the Nepali film 'Lalibazaar' has opened. On Wednesday, a joint bench of Judges Khadanand Tiwari and Netra Prasad Acharya of the Patan High Court declined to extend the short-term interim order previously issued to stop the screening of 'Lalibazaar'. With this order, the production company Shatkon Arts has announced that the film will be released this coming Friday, Baisakh 25.
Film producer Max Dipesh Khatri informed that the film will be screened from this Friday following the honorable court's order. He said, "We did not prepare the film in a way that would hurt the sentiments of any community or class. We have produced a film on the story of a mother and daughter. The film presents the story of a mother's struggle for her daughter."
Director and writer Yam Thapa expressed confidence that no community's sentiments would be hurt after watching the film. He said, "Currently, various speculations are being made about the film based on guesswork. I am confident that no one's heart will be hurt after watching the film."
The film stars Swastima Khadka, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukunda Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, Prem Pandey, Pradip Dhakal, Asha Paudel, Govinda Sunar, Abha Aryal, Tara Sharma, Ramesh Wadi, Saraswati Adhikari, Janaki Kadayat, Nischal Panthi, Birbal Chaudhary, among others.
Bishal Devkota and Prashansa Subedi are making their debut through this film. Bishal is an actor and director active in theater, while Prashansa is known as a rising actress of the Gen-Z generation. Written and directed by Yam Thapa, the screenplay and dialogues of 'Lalibazaar' were jointly prepared by Director Thapa and Pradip Bhattarai.
Pradip Bhattarai is the executive producer of the film, while Max Dipesh Khatri and Rabindra Singh Baniya are the producers.
