Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Holi Wishes and Safety Guidelines

Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City has expressed its best wishes to all city residents on the occasion of Phagu Purnima (Holi) and urged everyone to celebrate the festival in a civilized, safe, and dignified manner.

Issuing a message of greetings, the Metropolitan City expressed belief that Holi, the festival of colors, will enhance mutual harmony, reconciliation, and positive energy in society. It also wished for the festival to bring happiness, peace, good health, and prosperity.

The city has urged people not to use substances that negatively impact health, such as chemical colors, dirty water, and engine oil. It has also requested the use of natural and safe colors and to avoid the wastage of water.

Furthermore, the Metropolitan City has cautioned against applying color against anyone's will, throwing water balloons at strangers, and has urged respect for the private freedom and feelings of others. An appeal has also been made to refrain from unruly activities targeting women, children, senior citizens, and pedestrians.

The Metropolitan City has urged the general public to follow traffic rules while driving, not to drink and drive, and to fully comply with the directives issued by the local administration.
