Prime Minister Oli Visiting Karnali Corridor Road That Connects Nepal to India and China, Boosting Regional Trade
Kathmandu - Today, with great enthusiasm, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced his journey to Kharpunath in Humla, through his official facebook page, marking a significant milestone as the Karnali Corridor Road officially becomes operational. The newly inaugurated Chuwakhola Bailey Bridge will connect Nepal’s southern neighbor India and northern neighbor China via road for the first time.
This vital highway begins at the Jamuniya border area in Banke and extends 410 kilometers northward to Hilsa in Humla, situated at the Nepal-China border. The corridor links Karnali Province to the interstate road network running north-south, facilitating foreign trade and enhancing regional connectivity.
Importantly, this road will integrate Humla—the last remaining district yet to be connected—to the national highway system, marking a new era of accessibility and development for the region.
Prime Minister Oli expressed that a video created using artificial intelligence by a young citizen, showcasing the Karnali Corridor, along with his personal visit to Humla today, deeply inspired and excited him about Nepal’s infrastructural progress.
