Petroleum Imports via Kakarbhitta Border Reach Over 9 Arba 77 Crore

Bhadrapur (Jhapa) - Petroleum products worth more than 9 arba 77 crore rupees have been imported through the eastern Kakarbhitta border point by the end of Poush in the current fiscal year 2082/83. 

Petroleum products including petrol, diesel, LP gas, ATF, and kerosene worth a total of 9 arba 77 crore 2 lakh 32 thousand rupees were imported through this point. According to Ishwar Kumar Humagain, Information Officer and Customs Officer of the Mechi Customs Office, the import of petroleum products has increased by 51 crore 59 lakh 43 thousand rupees, or 5.60 percent, compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year 2081/82. 

He informed that along with the increase in imports, the revenue generated from petroleum products increased by 5.70 percent, or 25 crore 42 lakh 40 thousand rupees. According to the office's statistics, 4 arba 74 crore 94 lakh 36 thousand rupees in revenue was collected from petroleum imports during the first six months of the current fiscal year. 

During that period, 53,152 kiloliters of petrol worth 4 arba 72 crore 6 lakh rupees were imported. Similarly, 33,744 kiloliters of diesel worth 3 arba 22 crore 65 lakh rupees were imported. 

Furthermore, office data shows that during the six-month period, 12,811 metric tons of LP gas worth 1 arba 24 crore 7 lakh rupees, 4,112 kiloliters of ATF worth 37 crore 94 lakh rupees, and 964 kiloliters of kerosene worth 9 crore 5 lakh rupees were imported.
