Collaboration Between Nepal JCI and Movie ‘Bigul’: Support for Nationwide Promotion

The movie ‘Bigul’ shared various details about the film during a press conference held in the capital on Thursday. Nepal JCI is set to provide extensive support to the film, which is scheduled for nationwide release on February 13 (Falgun 1). During the press conference, an agreement was signed between ‘Bigul’ producer Dinesh Koirala and Nepal JCI National President Jeevan Karki.

Producer Koirala stated that the collaboration with Nepal JCI, which had previously assisted in the team's provincial promotional campaign a few weeks ago, has provided them with more energy. Koirala, who is also the storywriter of ‘Bigul’, is a former president of Nepal JCI. He expressed his expectations for support from all sectors, noting that he produced an entertaining film carrying a message for the country and its people.

President Karki explained that JCI, a global organization of youth active in social work, collaborated because it is essential to bring a film like ‘Bigul’—which depicts the real stories of contemporary Nepali society, families, politics, and youth—to all classes and communities. Wishing for the film's success, he emphasized the need to prioritize the production of films with such original themes.

Director Ramesh Koirala remarked that ‘Bigul’ is a story of the common people and aligns closely with the current political landscape, making it a must-watch for every citizen. He claimed the film contains a message that will instill a deeper love for the country and its soil alongside ample entertainment.

Senior actor Neer Shah mentioned that films based on real contemporary stories like ‘Bigul’ are rarely made and expressed pride in being a part of it. He stated that ‘Bigul’ is a story that needs to be told to the general Nepali public and urged for more films on similar subjects.

Actress Benisha Hamal shared that she plays a very challenging role in ‘Bigul’, noting it is a patriotic film that stands apart from typical releases. She suggested that every Nepali should watch the movie.

Actor Naren Khadka revealed that he is presented as a representative of youth power and expressed confidence that anyone conscious and aware of their country would like the film. He mentioned that he closely observed the lifestyles and manners of several youth leaders before acting in the film.

Producer Koirala stated that ‘Bigul’ presents stories representing the suppressed voices of Nepali society, common people enduring injustice, the youth generation anxious about the future, and the consciousness of struggling women. Recalling the immense support and love received from the audience and Nepal JCI during the provincial tour, he mentioned that the film envisions a prosperous, developed New Nepal led by the youth.

Presented by Kalpana Paudel under the banner of Magnolia Group, the film stars Benisha Hamal, Naren Khadka, Neer Shah, Ramesh Budhathoki, Hemanta Budhathoki, Saroj Khanal, Binod Neupane, Rabindra Khadka, Shishir Bangdel, Geeta Adhikari, JN Ghimire, Manusi Sharma, and debutante actress Meera Pandit.

The film, featuring a screenplay and dialogue by Pradip Bhardwaj and Maunata Shrestha, was cinematographed by Shiva Dhakal. The songs feature music by Arjun Pokharel, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, and Manoj Chaulagain, with choreography by Kamal Rai and Kabiraj Gahatraj.

Co-produced by Mahesh Koirala and Suryakanta Koirala, the film was edited by Tara Thapa 'Kimbhe' and features action direction by NB Maharjan. The film is being distributed by Kafia Films within the capital and Bankets Entertainment in the provinces.
