‘Jari 2’ Unveils Three Posters and Announces Release Date — Hitting Theatres on Asoj 3

Kathmandu — The much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster film Jari, titled Jari 2, directed by poet-turned-filmmaker Upendra Subba, has officially revealed its release date along with three promotional posters. According to the newly released posters, the film is set to hit theatres on Asoj 3 (September 19, 2025).

Among the three posters released today, the first features the main cast — Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, Buddhi Tamang, Vijay Baral — along with a young girl and supporting characters. The visual shows Miruna at the front, with Dayahang standing behind her leaning on a stick, and porters carrying goods in the background, highlighting a rural mountain setting.

The second and third posters focus solely on Dayahang and Miruna. In one, Dayahang is seen joyfully playing the traditional Chyabrung drum, while Miruna smiles brightly in a traditional Limbu outfit. Another poster shows them happily posing for the camera, radiating a cheerful vibe.

Subtitled Jari 2: Song of Chyabrung, the film appears to center around the cultural and emotional significance of the Chyabrung drum, a key symbol of the Limbu community. The visuals suggest a strong cultural narrative woven into the film’s storyline.

Produced under the banners of Baasuri Films and Kabaddi Films, Jari 2 is backed by successful filmmaker Rambabu Gurung. The ensemble cast includes Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, Vijay Baral, Buddhi Tamang, Richa Sharma, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, Manahang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamalmani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedana Rai, and Sirjana Ninglekhu.

Jari, the first film in the franchise, became one of the biggest box office hits of 2080 B.S., grossing over 170 million Nepali rupees. Due to its massive success, the announcement of its sequel has been met with high anticipation. Jari 2 is expected to carry forward the legacy and potentially repeat its commercial triumph.
