Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City Closes Schools for Four Days Due to Extreme Cold
Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City has announced the closure of all community and institutional schools for four days starting today.
The Education, Youth, and Sports Development Branch of the sub-metropolis issued a notice stating that winter leave has been granted to all schools within the municipality from today until the 16th of the month. This leave period will be deducted from the schools' annual holiday quotas.
Previously, the sub-metropolitan city had announced a one-day holiday; however, the closure was extended by four days as weather conditions failed to improve.
Life across the Terai-Madhesh districts, including Janakpurdham, has been significantly affected by a sudden increase in cold over the past week, with children and the elderly facing the most severe difficulties.
