Nepal’s First Green Steel & Roofing Company, Hulas Steel, Inaugurates Solar Power Plant at Simara Factory

Simara, Bara | 31 December

Hulas Steel Industries Limited, Nepal’s first Green Steel and Roofing Company, has inaugurated a solar power installation at its factory in Simara, Bara, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability and ESG journey.

The project has been implemented with technical guidance and subsidy support from the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC), Government of Nepal, reinforcing public–private collaboration for clean energy adoption.

As part of its ongoing environmental initiatives, Hulas Steel has already transitioned its Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL) and Color Coating Line (CCL) from diesel to electricity, significantly reducing fossil fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Building on this progress, the installation of solar power represents another important step toward renewable energy integration and long-term carbon footprint reduction.

The solar system is expected to generate clean, renewable energy, resulting in measurable CO₂ emission savings while supporting energy efficiency and ecological balance. With AEPC-backed subsidies encouraging rooftop solar adoption, this initiative demonstrates Hulas Steel’s proactive approach to leveraging government-supported clean energy programs.

This development aligns with Hulas Steel’s commitment to responsible manufacturing, climate action, and sustainable industrial growth. With this milestone, Hulas Steel further strengthens its ESG leadership and continues contributing positively to Nepal’s sustainable and green future.
