'Gobar Ganesh' Trailer: A Village Youth's Broken Dreams in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU. The trailer for the movie ‘Gobar Ganesh’ has been released. The production team launched the trailer today during an event held in Kathmandu.

The trailer shows the struggle of a young man who comes to Kathmandu after being unable to succeed in his studies. It portrays the journey of a village youth, weak in academics, who moves to the city to change his life.

The trailer attempts to show the reality that Kathmandu is not as easy as one imagines while living in a village. It highlights the difficult struggle of a young man who ends up picking up trash to survive. It clearly shows the tough life in Kathmandu and how it impacts a family's dreams.

The trailer depicts the hard times of a pampered son who must survive on his own earnings in the city. It also captures the moment a mother discovers her son’s miserable condition. It reflects the common story of many Nepali youths whose dreams are shattered after moving from the village to the city.

Earlier, the production team released the title song of ‘Gobar Ganesh,’ featuring the voice of Marichman Shrestha.

The movie ‘Gobar Ganesh’ is scheduled to be released on Magh 1. It is directed by Marichman Shrestha (Balchhi Dhurbe).

Presented by Balchhi Dhurbe Films, the movie stars Balchhi and Barsha Siwakoti, along with Binod Neupane, Padam Tamang, Nirmal Sharma, Laxminath Timalsena, Santosh Baniya, Sandeep Lama, Maotse Gurung, Sita Devi Timalsina, Pujan Ghimire (Puku), Buddhi Tamang, Bishal Pahari, Ramesh Budhathoki, Swastika Lamichhane, and others.

Taranath Neupane is the Chief Assistant Director. The movie features background music by Yogesh Kaji Shah, production by Shankar Pandey, cinematography by Shivaram Shrestha, and editing by Bipin Malla.

Tauwa Studio is handling the publicity design, and OSR Digital is the digital partner. The movie will be distributed in Nepal by Shree Byaktesh Entertainment.
