'Gauthali' in a New Avatar: Release Date Set for Shrawan 1
Kathmandu: In the Nepali film industry, 'Gauthali' is an established and emotional name. Based on a story by Nepal's prestigious physician Dr. Bhola Rijal, the original film was produced nearly two decades ago and successfully celebrated 51 days in theaters. Now, a new film titled 'Gauthali' is arriving, presenting that same legacy in a new form.
The film is directed by Dr. Kapil Rijal. Previously, he directed the film 'Harry Ki Pyari' starring actor Jitu Nepal and actress Samragyee RL Shah.
Following the finalization of distributors, the production team released the film's poster and set the release date for Saun 1 (July 17).
In this film, the pair of actor Arun Chhetri and Simran Khadka will be seen on screen. Alongside them, the film features performances by prominent figures of the Nepali art sector, including Madan Krishna Shrestha, Prakash Ghimire, Luniva Tuladhar, Rabindra Jha, Ishwari Baral, Sanyog Rasaili, Sitadevi Timilsina, Laxminath Timilsina, and Rajendra Nepali. Anshu Oli and Prince Nepali appear as child artists.
The story is written by senior physician Dr. Bhola Rijal, while the screenplay and dialogues were co-written by director Dr. Kapil Rijal along with Nischal Kunwar, Neeraj Nepal, and Giriraj Ghimire.
According to the production team, the symbolic meaning of 'Gauthali' is linked to home, family, and mutual closeness.
Presented by Bhola Rijal Production and Suman Giri Production, the film's executive producer is Sarala Rijal. Suman Giri and Dr. Kapil Rijal serve as producers, while Indu Giri, Manish Rijal, Pralay Rijal, and Jeewan Oli are co-producers.
The music is composed by senior composer Sambhujeet Baskota, Thaneshwar Gautam, and Prashant Siwakoti, with background music by Alish Karki.
The film was shot by Hari Humagain and edited by Milan Shrestha.
With Giriraj Ghimire as the chief assistant director, the film includes Aryan Adhikari and Buddhi Nepali as assistant directors, sound mixing by Mukesh Shah, color grading by Rajendra Moktan, and choreography by Ramji Lamichhane and Mausam Himali.
Rich Entertainment, Apple Entertainment, and F.D. Company have taken responsibility for the film's distribution. The digital rights are held by 'OSR Digital'.
