Gagan Thapa Opts Out of Tihar Festivities, Apologizes to Event Organizers

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has announced that he will not be participating in any celebratory programs this Tihar festival, including Dipawali, Deusi-Bhailo, and Nhu Dañ (Nepal Sambat New Year) events.

Following a similar decision during Dashain, Mahamantri Thapa took to Facebook to convey his message and offer a blanket apology to all the organizers who had invited him.

His Facebook post stated:

"Since I will not be participating in celebratory programs this Tihar, just like during Dashain, I would like to offer a collective apology from here to all the organizers who extended invitations for Dipawali, Deusi-Bhailo, and Nhu Dañ programs."

General Secretary Thapa also extended his heartfelt wishes to everyone on the occasion of Dipawali and Nhu Dañ.
