Flight Delayed After Passenger Opens Emergency Door Without Authorization
Kathmandu — Today, Buddha Air flight no. 852 (Aircraft 9N-AAMD), scheduled to fly from Bhairahawa to Kathmandu, has been delayed. According to Buddha Air, the delay occurred because passenger Suman Gautam opened the aircraft’s emergency door without authorization.
Following the incident, the passenger was immediately taken into the custody of airport security personnel. A technical team has already departed from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa to ensure the aircraft’s safety and conduct technical inspections. The flight will depart only after the tests are completed, the airline stated.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority regulations, opening an aircraft’s emergency door without cause is considered a serious legal offense. Buddha Air apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers due to this incident.
