First Bio-Plastic Industry Launched in Kshireswornath Municipality, Dhanusha

Janakpur — The first bio-plastic industry has been launched in Kshireswornath Municipality-1, Dhanusha. Manoj Kumar Sah, Mayor of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, inaugurated the industry on Monday.

The industry’s machinery parts alone involved an investment of NPR 30 million, according to the industry owner, Laxmi Mahaseth.

He stated that the plastic bags produced by this industry will play a significant role in reducing environmental pollution.

He further explained that compared to other plastic bags, the bags produced by this industry will decompose automatically within 90 days when exposed to open air, water, or soil.

Mahaseth also mentioned that burning the bio-plastic bags produced by this industry will turn them into ash instantly, causing no harm to the environment. Currently, the industry is using machinery capable of producing 800 kilograms of bio-plastic bags daily.

Although the bio-plastic bags are slightly more expensive than regular plastic bags in the market, Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah urged everyone to use bio-plastic bags as they do not harm the environment.
