Fire at Itahari Cafe Causes Over 3.5 Million Rupees in Damages

Biratnagar: A fire at the New Purbanchal Ice Cream Parlor and Coffee Shop in Itahari, Sunsari, on Wednesday morning caused an estimated loss of more than 3.5 million rupees.

Police reported that the fire started in the kitchen of the cafe located in Itahari Sub-metropolitan City-6. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire ignited from sparks produced during maintenance work in the kitchen.

According to DSP Subas Hamal of the Area Police Office, Itahari, the fire has been completely brought under control, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing. Fire engines from local levels including Dharan, Duhabi, Ramdhuni, and Inaruwa in Sunsari, as well as Biratnagar and Sundarharaicha in Morang, were deployed to control the blaze. The fire was extinguished through the active efforts of security personnel and locals.

Since Itahari Sub-metropolitan City's own fire engine was destroyed during the previous Gen-Z protests, fire trucks had to be requested from other local levels. It is reported that the cafe's kitchen, materials, and equipment were destroyed by the fire, resulting in significant loss. Police stated that the exact details of the damages are still being collected.
